Errata and Change History

  1. Component rights declarations were added in Section 3.3, letting a title declaration reference separate component declarations through the new media:includes and media:included elements. A new operative concept was introduced and threaded through the lifecycle, trust, revalidation, and conflict rules. The initial Schema.org profiles were removed from Appendix B and moved to a separate RSL Media Schema Profiles specification, and a non-conforming <schema> now renders a declaration non-operative. Rights Scope values were revised: work gained literary, identity split image and likeness and dropped video, and character dropped performance. Sitemap discovery moved to the /.well-known/rsl-media.xml location, replacing the root-level and robots.txt mechanisms, and the corresponding well-known URI registration was added under IANA considerations.

  2. Section 3.1 was reorganized. Registry identification was split into its own subsection covering the registry, registry-id, and the new registry-subjects attributes, the rights subject category and scope rules were consolidated, and the subsequent subsections were renumbered. The earlier “Changes Requiring a New ISRD” subsection was removed, conflict handling was tightened into explicit normative requirements, and editorial clarifications were made throughout.
