Welcome to rslmedia.org (“RSL Media,” “RSL,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of rslmedia.org and any related website, service, tool, form, content, feature, or platform operated by RSL Media (collectively, the “Site”).
By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not access or use the Site.
1. Purpose and Use of Site
RSL Media provides tools, resources, and services designed to help artists, creators, rights holders, managers, representatives, and creative teams register consent preferences, communicate rights-related notices, access educational materials, and participate in initiatives that promote transparency, consent, and responsible use of creative works, identities, characters, marks, and related rights.
You may use the Site for personal, professional, educational, or rights-administration purposes consistent with these Terms.
You agree not to misuse the Site or attempt to interfere with its normal operation, security, integrity, or availability. You also agree not to use the Site to submit false, misleading, unauthorized, unlawful, abusive, harassing, or infringing content or communications.
2. Account Creation and Verification
To access certain features of the Site, including registering consent preferences, submitting rights-related information, or sending notices to third parties, you may need to create an account or provide verification information.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information;
- Use your own email address or an email address you are authorized to use;
- Maintain the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- Be responsible for all activity under your account; and
- Promptly update any information that becomes inaccurate or incomplete.
RSL Media may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Site if we believe that information provided is inaccurate, unauthorized, fraudulent, or otherwise violates these Terms.
3. Consent and Rights Submissions
When you submit a consent registration, rights-related notice, or similar communication through the Site, you authorize RSL Media to:
- Process and store the information you submit;
- Send an email or other communication to any party, representative, company, label, publisher, platform, organization, or other entity that you identify;
- Include CC or BCC recipients as directed by you for transparency, privacy, or recordkeeping purposes; and
- Maintain confirmation records and related submission records for your reference and for verification purposes.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and authorization of any information you submit through the Site. By submitting information, you represent and warrant that you have the right and authority to provide that information and to direct RSL Media to send any related communication on your behalf.
RSL Media does not modify, sell, or commercially exploit your submission data. The purpose of the system is to help you clearly communicate consent preferences, rights-related positions, or related notices and to establish a verifiable record of your submission.
RSL Media does not guarantee that any third party will receive, review, acknowledge, accept, reject, or respond to any communication sent through the Site.
4. Intellectual Property
All materials, text, images, code, design elements, documents, trademarks, service marks, logos, software, and other content on the Site are owned by or licensed to RSL Media or their respective owners, authors, or licensors.
You may not copy, distribute, reproduce, modify, publicly display, publicly perform, publish, create derivative works from, or otherwise use any Site content without permission, unless expressly permitted by these Terms or otherwise stated on the Site.
You retain ownership of your own creative works, identity rights, characters, marks, submissions, and other materials you provide through the Site. If you choose to submit material or information through the Site, you grant RSL Media a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, transmit, display, and use that material solely as necessary to operate the Site, provide the applicable service, maintain records, and carry out the purpose for which you submitted it.
Any rights not expressly granted herein are reserved.
5. Privacy and Data
Your use of the Site is governed by our Privacy Notice, which is linked on the Site.
RSL Media may use Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare Web Analytics, and related service providers to operate, secure, measure, and improve the Site. Data collected through analytics and infrastructure services may include aggregate or technical information such as page views, device type, browser type, operating system, referral information, and country-level geographic data.
Except as described in the Privacy Notice, RSL Media does not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties.
We take privacy seriously. Artist emails, BCC recipients, submissions, and related records are not publicly visible through the Site unless you choose to make information public or direct us to send it to a designated recipient.
6. Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to external websites, platforms, services, companies, legal resources, labels, publishers, representatives, or other third parties.
RSL Media does not control third-party websites or services and is not responsible for their content, policies, practices, security, availability, or accuracy. Links to third-party websites or services do not imply endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, authorization, or approval by RSL Media.
You access third-party websites and services at your own risk.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and all content, tools, forms, services, and communications made available through the Site are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RSL Media disclaims all warranties, including warranties of accuracy, availability, reliability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.
RSL Media does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, secure, error-free, or free of viruses or harmful components. RSL Media does not warrant that any information submitted through the Site will create any particular legal effect, establish any legal right, satisfy any legal notice requirement, or be accepted, acknowledged, or acted upon by any third party.
The Site may provide educational information or tools related to consent, creative rights, AI, and rights administration. Such information is provided for general informational purposes only and does not constitute legal advice. 8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RSL Media, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, representatives, affiliates, licensors, and service providers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, business opportunity, or other intangible losses, arising out of or relating to your access to, use of, or inability to use the Site.
This limitation applies whether the claim is based on warranty, contract, tort, negligence, strict liability, statute, or any other legal theory, even if RSL Media has been advised of the possibility of such damages.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, RSL Media’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Site or these Terms shall not exceed the amount, if any, paid by you to RSL Media for access to or use of the Site.
9. Modifications
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect operational, technical, legal, or other changes.
Changes take effect when posted on this page with a revised effective date, unless otherwise stated. Your continued access to or use of the Site after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you should stop using the Site.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles.
Any legal action, claim, or proceeding arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site must be filed in a court of competent jurisdiction in Davidson County, Tennessee, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
